Reti invisibili

When photographer Matteo Capone is taking pictures in the streets of Rome and Modena, he’s freeing himself from any guidance – just looking for that perfect moment to capture when everything aligns.

Photography Matteo Capone

My ongoing street Pphotography series started in 2019 in Rome and Modena, Italy. In my opinion practicing street photography means letting go and breaking free from any concept or line-up. It is about taking a moment that the second after has slipped away and looking for what I like to call ‘Reti Invisibili’ (invisible links). Especially in urban spaces, lines, lights, shadows, shapes and people are all possible “links” which can relate to each other in a single picture. Sometimes they have to be sought, other times they appear as if a photographic set had been set up just the second before.
