This shoot marks a key moment in A’Whora’s evolution from reality star to fashion influencer. More than just a drag performer, she sees herself as a creative force, styling and selecting all the outfits for the shoot.

The editorial highlights the work of rising London designers Drew Kent, Sapiensi, Liwen Liang, Alina Aispas, and Ella Douglas. It rejects the glossy, over-the-top aesthetic fans might expect, instead opting for a harder, more editorial style that reflects London’s underground fashion scene.

This collaboration between A’Whora and Matt Ford reflects how drag is steadily crossing into new creative territories, blending performance with fashion in a way that feels grounded and fresh. It’s a subtle yet meaningful step in the ongoing conversation between drag culture and modern style.

These images will also feature in Ford’s long-term project, an art book titled DOREEN, which delves into drag both within and beyond the mainstream. Inspired by Ford’s childhood babysitter, a drag queen who sparked his fascination with the art form, the project features a blend of Drag Race icons, underground cabaret performers, drag kings, and gender-nonconforming artists, offering a full spectrum of drag’s current landscape.

Photographer Mickey Aloisio’s first solo exhibition just opened at Marlborough in NYC. "You Go Ahead—I'll Watch" features his interdisciplinary art using various analogue media and other alternative technologies. The exhibition includes work from his series "Lunch Break" and "Morning Dew," exploring transgressive narratives, queer navigation and intimate moments. Drawing inspiration from Laud Humphreys' controversial 1970s text Tearoom Trade, Aloisio examines consent, manipulation and deception in human relationships.
